William Holmes Whittaker

William "Bill" Holmes Whittaker, age 70, of Waverly, TN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Humphreys County Care and Rehab. He was born on April 26, 1954, in Richmond, KY to the late Garnetta May Rodgers and William Henry Whittaker. Bill led a life rich in experiences and passions. His love for golfing was evident; many cherished memories were created on the greens with friends and family, where he could often be found sharing laughter and cultivating connections through the game. Traveling was another of his great loves, and he explored various destinations, embracing different cultures and forming lasting bonds along the way.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lauren and Heather Whittaker; Bill's companion for 12 years, Cynthia Dugger; step children, Cory Dugger (Elizabeth), Emily Houston (Erik) and Alyssa Phillips (Hank); 10 step grandchildren and 1 step great granddaughter.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Garnetta May Morton Rodgers; his father, William Henry Whittaker; sister, Teresa French and brother, Benny Whittaker. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Samuel's on the Square in Waverly, TN beginning at 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. The family ask that you come share your favorite memory of their Bill. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Mr. Bill.
