William "Bill" Ray Perry

William “Bill” Ray Perry, age 86 of Waverly, TN passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at his residence. Bill was born in Memphis, TN on April 12, 1938 to the late Bessie Mae Taylor Perry and David Richard Perry.  He proudly served his country in the U.S Army. He retired at the Shelby County Sheriff's Department after 28 years of service. Bill was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for 24 years. He enjoyed reading and tinkering in his garage. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, granddad, great granddad and friend. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Sue Perry of Waverly, TN; daughter Kelley Harvey of McEwen, TN; grandchildren, Morgan Palmer (Hannah), Kamron Jones (Lauren), Corbin Jones and Olivia Cunningham (Dylan); great grandchildren, Aubree Palmer, Gage Palmer and Eleanor Cunningham; and fur baby, Roxy Rose.

Along with his parents, William is preceded in death by his 8 siblings; son-in-law, Tommy Harvey, and fur babies, Bella and Lissy.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. and the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McEwen with Father Zack Kirangu and Father John Sims Baker officiating the service.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to the St. Patrick’s School or William David Daniel, Jr. Scholarship Fund at St. Patrick’s.
