William "Bill" Clayton

   Mr. Bill Clayton age 86, of Waverly, TN passed away April 18, 2019. Mr. Clayton was born February 28, 1933 in Benton County, TN to the late Ima Nora Pierce Clayton and Soloman Zach Clayton. Mr Clayton lived most of his life in Waverly and was a member of Waverly First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended UT Martin and transferred to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he graduated in 1953. He was married to Nancy Jane Byron Clayton for 62 years. Mr. Clayton was the County Supervisor for Farmers Home Administration for over 30 years. Mr. Clayton enjoyed woodworking and camping and was an active member of the United Methodist Men as well as helping with Boy Scouts.

   Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 22, 2019 from 12-2pm at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Funeral Service for Mr. William Clayton will be Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN with Rev. Thad Collier officiating. Interment will be at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Waverly First United Methodist Church or to JDRF-Middle Tennessee Chapter.
