Gary Stephen "Hippie" Hooper

Mr. Gary Stephen "Hippie" Hooper, age 66, of Waverly, TN, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. Hippie was born January 23, 1954, in Clarksville, TN, to James Edward Hooper and Nancy Mae Crawford Hooper. He was married to Linda Dotson Hooper. He was a retired Manager for Humphreys County Utility District in Waverly. Hippie was a member of BPOE #2289 Waverly Elks Lodge, Al Menah Temple Shriners, 32nd Degree Mason, member of Waverly Masonic Lodge #304, American Legion Donelson Post #88, Dickson Moose Lodge, and Tennessee Squire. He was an avid race car fan, especially Dale Earnhardt #3!!! Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 4-8 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. and an Elk Service at 7:30 p.m., at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Visitation on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, will be from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Rev. Paul Adams will be officiating the service.
