Scherry Gayle Vetter

Scherry Gayle Petty Vetter, age 74 of McEwen, TN passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Humphreys County Nursing Home. Scherry was born on June 24, 1948 in Dickson, TN to the late Neal and Dorothy Petty. Scherry spent her life being a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother. She was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church in McEwen, TN. Everyone who knew Ms. Scherry loved her and she loved them the same.

Left to cherish her memories are her 2 sons, Scotty Vetter (Jan) of Dickson, TN and Kelly Vetter of McEwen, TN; brother, Phillip Petty (Patty) of McEwen, TN; sister, Leona Deavers (David) of McEwen, TN; granddaughter, Lauren Paige Vetter and sister-in-law, Patsy Petty.

Along with her parents, Neal and Dorothy Petty, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony Vetter; and brother, Larry Petty.

A visitation for Ms. Scherry will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.at the Luff-Bowen McEwen Chapel.  Another visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 1:00 P.M. Officiating will be Brother David Deavers. Interment to follow at McEwen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Petty, Garrett Petty, Jason Fenter, Chris Painter, Ian Mercer and Cole Fisher. In leiu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Scherry to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
