Mr. Samuel Edward Brigham, age 96, formerly of Waverly, passed away December 7, 2020 at the Franklin Wellness & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, TN. Mr. Brigham was born on February 9, 1924 in Humphreys County to Samuel Brigham, Sr. and Eva Ray Scott Brigham. Samuel served in the US Navy and was a WWll Veteran. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 in December 8, 1941, the day after Pearl Harbor, and left Waverly the day after Christmas in 1941. He was Construction Painter at TVA, a member of the Spann Church of Christ, the American Legion,and volunteered at the Senior Citizen's Torrey Johnson Center in Waverly until he was 90 years old.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Waverly Senior Citizen's Torrey Johnson Center in memory of Mr. Samuel.
Graveside service and interment will be on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
His survivors include:
Daughter: Debbie Widick (Reggie), Brentwood, TN
Brother: Franklin Hill Brigham, Memphis, TN
2 Grandchildren: Daniel Widick (Mandy) and Matthew Widick, Nashville,TN
Great granddaughter: Paige Widick
He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel E. Brigham, Sr., & Eva Ray Scott Brigham and wife Claudie Rue Coble Brigham.
