Ruthie Fay Stephens

Fay Stephens, age 83 of Waverly, TN passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN. Fay was born on January 3, 1940 in Dickson, TN to the late Bessie and Baxter Walker. Fay was a graduate of Dickson High School. She worked at DuPont for 7 years. She was the church secretary at Waverly Church of Christ for 15 years. Fay retired from Walmart in Waverly after 9 years. Fay loved her grandchildren and dogs. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. 

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Charles Stephens, Sr., of Waverly, TN; Children, Chuck Stephens, Jr. (Kelly), of Dickson, TN, and Deanna Stephens, of Franklin, TN; Grandchildren, Austin Stephens, Tresdon Stephens, and Addie Stephens; brother, Dale Walker; sister, Camille Walker Wilson .

Fay is preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Baxter Walker and 2 brothers, Kenneth Walker and Don Walker.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, beginning at 4PM – 8PM.  Another visitation will be held on January 29, 2023, at 11AM until the hour of service at 2PM.  Bro. Jeff Keele will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Richlawn Cemetery. Pallbears will be Tresdon Stephens, Larry Hayes, David Nowlin, and George Palmer.
