Rudy Monroe Rice

Mr. Rudy Monroe Rice, age 79, of McEwen, Tennessee passed away April 11, 2019, at his home. Mr. Rice was born November 8, 1939 in Lobelville, TN, to Frank Allen Marrs and Pauline Rice Scaggs. He was a graduate of McEwen High School Class of 1960 and held Perfect Attendance throughout all of his school years. Rudy loved camping, fishing, and coaching football and baseball. He was a retired Supervisor for Humphreys County Sanitation Department and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of McEwen. Mr. Rice is survived by his wife: Jenny Rice, McEwen, TN, 2 sons: Rickey Rice, Waynesboro, TN and Mickey "Bubba" Rice (Becky), McEwen, TN, daughter: Tanya "Cissie" Rice Tubville, McEwen, TN, 11 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, 5 Sisters: Jean Burkett Funk, Virginia Jackson (Larry), Ann Lynn (Charles), Joann Depriest, and Audrey Boyd (Kenny), 1 brother: Randy Marrs (Roberta). "Uncle Rudy" to many nieces and nephews that he loved as his own.  He was preceded in death by his mother: Pauline Rice Scaggs, father: Frank Allen Marrs, grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Willie Jackson Rice, siblings: Jerry Scaggs, Pamela Scaggs, and Jewel Woods. Visitation for Mr. Rice will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, April 14, 2019, from 11:00 AM until funeral service time at 2:00 PM, at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Bro. Cary Crews of Waynesboro, TN will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Rice Cemetery in Hurricane Mills, TN.
