Robert "Bob" Lincoln Dowell

Robert “Bob” Lincoln Dowell, 73, passed away peacefully December 9, 2019 at his home in Waverly, Tennessee. Bob was born January 30, 1946 in Harned, Breckenridge County, Kentucky to the late Roy Lincoln and Edna May (Smith) Dowell. He attended Breckenridge County High School then enlisted in the US Marine Corps and upon return  wed his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Sue Tucker in 1964. Together they raised three children moving the family to Waverly, TN in 1977. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, talking politics and working hard. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Ana Belle (Dowell) Gregory Benifield and Nancy Jean (Dowell) Carman. He is survived by his wife Sue of 55 years; three children: Tim (Amy Marie) Dowell of St Charles, MO, daughter Amie (Glendon) Black of Palmyra, TN and Tony (Jacqui) of Waverly, TN; seven grandchildren: Kara (Daniel) Zahn, Candace (Reed) Harper, RaeAnne Black, Brock Dowell, Nathan Dowell, Chris Dowell and Daniel Dowell; one great grandchild, Emory Zahn and soon to arrive, Marilyn Kate Zahn; two brothers: Ronald (Joyce) Dowell of Waverly and Paul (Sue) Dowell of Harned, KY; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph and the care team at the Dickson Tennessee Oncology Center and Tennessee Quality Care Hospice for their dedication and service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date
