Pete Simmons

Mr. Huey Long (Pete) Simmons age 87, passed away Saturday, April 21. 2018 Pete was born November 22, 1930 in Cotton Valley, LA to the late James William and Minnie Lou Newton Simmons. He joined the Marines in February, 1951 and left active service in May 1952. He remained in the reserves for 10 years. He worked as an electrician for Mid-Valley Pipeline Company for 52 years. He was married in December, 1951 to Sarah Lou Watts Simmons, who passed away in 2011. He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Ray Simmons.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 23, 2018 from 5-8pm. Funeral service for Mr. Pete Simmons will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly conducted by Bro. Johnny Hayes. Interment will follow in the Methodist Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of your choice to honor the memory of Mr. Simmons.
