Peggy Joyce Hughey Forrest

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Hughey Forrest of Franklin, TN and formerly of New Johnsonville, TN, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the age of 82. Peggy was born in Waverly, TN and lived most of her life in New Johnsonville, TN, until moving to Franklin to be with her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of New Johnsonville Church of Christ. The love and work of Peggy's life was her family. She delighted in caring for their needs and seeing that everyone was well-fed. She loved to hear and tell stories, especially about the grandchildren who called her "NaNa.” Peggy was always ready with a listening ear and limitless love to offer to her family and friends. A public Graveside Service and interment will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at the Ebenezer Cemetery, 8863 Old State Route 1, New Johnsonville, TN. Bro. Randy Forrest and Bro. Jim Black will be officiating the service. Masks and social distancing are required at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnathon Forrest, Justin Forrest, Brad Forrest, John Forrest, John Paul Cooke, Andy Black, David Black, Michael Black, Daniel Black, and Christian Williams. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Johnny Forrest, her parents Lloyd and Emma Hughey, and her siblings Debbie Hughey and Delmas Hughey. Peggy is survived by her children: Randy (Linda) Forrest of Kingston Springs, Karen Nanney of Franklin, Robin (Tammy) Forrest of Lebanon, Don (Angela) Forrest of Lebanon, Kristi (Tim) Cooke of Chattanooga, and Celeste (Jim) Black of Fayetteville, as well as her siblings Bill Hughey of Niagara Falls, NY and Linda Hughey of Nashville, 19 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
