Nancy Jane Clayton
December 12, 1933 — April 13, 2024
Clayton was born December 12, 1933, in Mayfield, KY to the late Elsie
Williams Byron and Slaughter Long Byron. Mrs. Clayton lived most of her life
in Waverly and was a member of Waverly First United Methodist Church for
over 50 years where she served on many committees and led the Chappell
Sunday School class on a “temporary” basis for over 30 years. She was
married to William A (Bill) Clayton for 62 years. Mrs. Clayton was a
homemaker. Mrs. Clayton enjoyed various craft projects and camping.
Mrs. Clayton was predeceased by her husband William A (Bill) Clayton.
She is survived by:

William Zachary (Zach) Clayton (Lori) of Kingston Springs
Grandchildren-
William Zachary (Will) Clayton, Jr. (Haley) of Nashville, TN
Kyle Lee Clayton (Jessica) of Dickson, TN
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 12:30 P.M.
until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly,
TN with Rev. Adam Kelchner officiating. A private interment will be at Middle
TN Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made to Waverly First United Methodist Church or to JDRF-
Middle Tennessee Chapter.
Arrangements are entrusted to Luff-Bowen Funeral Home.
