Mattie Madden Armstrong

Mrs. Mattie Madden Armstrong age 90 of Waverly, TN, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018.  She was born on May 10, 1928 in Waverly, TN to the late John M Madden and Ethel Allison Madden.  She was married to the late Thomas (Tommy) Armstrong of Waverly, TN.  They were married for 52 years.  She worked as a Seamstress at the Waverly Garment Factory for several years and then later became the Bookkeeper for the family Business Armstrong Motors INC.  She attended the Waverly Cumberland Presbyterian Chuch.     Survivors include: Children-Thomas (Tony) Armstrong of McEwenVickie Washburn of Memphis     Grandchildren-Thomas "Eric" Washburn of Nashville, TNMatthew Scott Washburn of Memphis, TNVivian Mia Armstrong of Covington, TN.Mrs. Armstrong is preceded in death by her Parents John and Ethel Madden, 2 Brothers -  Thomas Madden of McEwen, TN and George Madden of Waverly, TN, 2 Sisters - Alma Lovell Norton of Gadsden TN. and Lou Williams of McEwen, TN. 1 Step Grandson David Washburn of Jackson and her son in law Danny Washburn of Memphis.   Visitation with the family will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 6-9PM and Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 12-2PM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Armstrong will be Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00PM with Pastor Michael Krech officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
