With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Ann Fortner Smith, age 89, our loving mother, devoted grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 4, 2022. Since October, before her passing away peacefully, Mary Ann was cared for wonderfully by in-home hospice care, her family, and sweet friends. Mary Ann inspired many with her positive, cheerful outlook in happy anticipation of Heaven. Visitation will be held at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until funeral service time at 1:00 p.m. Bro Rick Rolin, Bro. Jeremy McFarlin, and Ronnie Hughes will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN. She enjoyed running her ladies' clothing boutique for many years. She enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband, Bobby, and her dear friends from church.
