Mark Allen Rees

Mark Allen Rees, age 57 of McEwen, TN passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. Mark was born on June 11, 1965 in Washington, IN to Donald and Ellen Rees. Mark played basketball and baseball at Robinson High School Maroon. He got a scholarship to play baseball at Wabash Valley College Warriors in Mt. Carmel, IL and got to tryout for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an outdoorsman. Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and jeepin’. He was also a lifelong Cardinals fan but most of all he loved being a father and a G-Pa. He had a love hate relationship with the Tennessee Titans. Mark’s family and friends will remember him as a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Stephanie Presson (Zach) of McEwen, TN; Shannon Ross (Michael) of McEwen, TN and Susan Rees (Madison) of Erin, TN; son, Mark Allen Rees, Jr. (Skylar) of McEwen, TN; grandsons, Rees Presson, Luke Presson and granddaughter on the way, Missy Ross; mother, Ellen Rees of Robinson, IL; brother, Mike Rees of Booneville, IN and sister, Mindy Krol (David) of Indianapolis, IN.

Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye “Missy” Rees and father, Donald "Butch” Rees.

A visitation for Mark will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Luff-Bowen McEwen Chapel beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Another visitation on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 12:00 P.M. Bro. Roger Puckett and Tracy Young will be officiating.  Pallbearers will be Steven Moran, Tommy Craft, Glen Winstead, Rob Lowery, Michael Moran and Lee Honea. Interment to follow at McEwen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The V Foundation of Cancer Research and The American Red Cross.

A Celebration of Life is to follow in his hometown of Robinson, IL, on Sat. Feb. 18, 2023, at the Parish Hall at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
