Margaret Virginia Durham Patterson

Mrs. Margaret Virginia Durham Patterson, age 89, of McEwen, TN, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, TN. Mrs. Patterson was born April 13, 1931, in Detroit, MI, to Henry Lurton and Lillie Katherine Brown Durham. She was married to Buddy Patterson. She was a member of Waverly Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also an Ambassador for 11 years for the Cumberland Presbyterian Women and they made and presented 86 prayer quilts to the sick. Mrs. Patterson was the best cook in Humphreys County! She loved working in her yard and with her flowers. She was a remarkable daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly is honored to serve the Patterson family with a drive thru visitation and a drive in funeral service in our parking lot. Please refrain from congregating in groups and remain in your vehicle. Luff-Bowen Funeral Home employees will assist you in our parking lot and we will be live streaming the funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday, on Facebook. We will also have available a FM Transmitter so you can tune your automobile radio to Channel 98.1, to listen to the funeral service, in the comfort of your vehicle, in our parking lot. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, April 28, 2020, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 2 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Bro. Richard Hughes, of Huntsville, AL, will be officiating the service. A private graveside service for the immediate family only will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Waverly Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
