Louise Vetter Rochelle

May 11, 1935 — April 20, 2020

Mildred "Louise" Vetter Rochelle, age 84 of Maryville, TN, formerly of Hurricane Mills, TN passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at her home.

She was a beloved and devoted wife of 65 years to Jimmy Rochelle. A loving mother of Renee (Jeff Phebus), Gary (Jessica Rochelle) and Lisa (David Wiser). She was a wonderful grandmother "Mema" to 8 grandchildren- Connor, Matthew, Scott, and Grant Phebus; Katelyn Rochelle Scarpino (Joe), Kelsey Rochelle; James and Rachel Wiser. She also leaves a brother, James Robert "Bobby" Vetter.

Louise was born May 11, 1935 in McEwen, Tennessee to the late Alma Mildred (Ewing) Vetter and Romie Ray Vetter. She is also preceded in death by 3 brothers; Romie Ray, Jr. "Dutch", Billy Eugene, and Tony Florence Vetter.

Louise Graduated from McEwen High School in 1954 and married James "Jimmy" Rochelle on March 26, 1955 in Corinth, Mississippi. She worked at Bank of Waverly and Waverly Cleaners before partnering full time with Jimmy to manage the family farm and the Exxon Service Station in Buffalo, TN. Louise and Jimmy moved to Townsend, TN in 1996 and entered the cabin rental business with multiple properties in Laurel Valley, Wears Valley and Maryville, TN. Louise thrived in the hospitality business where she could "mother" her guests just as she "mothered" her children, grandchildren, and even her husband. She was an avid sports fan, ticket holder and supporter of University of Tennessee athletics. Playing basketball herself in high school, she was particularly fond of the Lady Vols basketball. Louise/Mom/Mema will be sorely missed by family, friends, neighbors and customers.

There will be a private visitation for the family. Following visitation, a private graveside service will be conducted at the Rochelle Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Lofton will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation using the provided "Memorial Donations" tab to the left of the obituary.

Philippians 2:3-4; "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." Louise truly exhibited this servant nature her entire life.
