Laverne Crowell Chance

Mrs. Laverne Crowell Chance, age 94, of Waverly, TN, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at her home.  Laverne was born on December 21, 1924, in New Johnsonville, TN, to Edgar Thomas Crowell, Sr. and Willie D Merideth Crowell. She was a graduate of Trebble High School. After high school she did various jobs which included working on a US Navy Ship. She worked at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly, Tennessee as a nurse after graduating LPN School until she retired. Mrs. Chance was an member of First Baptist Church in Waverly and the Senior Citizens Center. She loved to play cards with her friends, watch TV, and  enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mason Herbert, Audrey Herbert, Olivia Herbert, Landyn Coleman, Caitlyn Whitsett, Cory Chance and Caley Chance

2 Great-Great Grandchildren:

Layla and Dale Rayburn

She is preceded in death by:

Her husband James Paul Chance, Brother: Edgar Thomas Crowell, Jr., Sister-in-law Eileen Crowell and her parents Edgar Thomas and Willie Crowell.

Visitation for Mrs. Laverne will be held on Thursday October 17, 2019, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN.  Interment will be at the J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN.
