Larry Richard Rushton

Larry Richard Rushton, age 82, went to his heavenly home on Friday evening, April 28,2023. Larry was born on March 18, 1941, in Waverly, TN, to John D. and Katherine Weatherspoon Rushton. At age 7, the family moved to Only, TN. He attended Bodine School in Buffalo, TN, for grades 1-8. Continuing his education at Waverly Central High School and graduating with class of 1959. He attended Austin Peay University for a year before joining the U.S. Army. He proudly served from 1960-1966. Larry’s roots were farming, like his father and grandfathers. For over 50 years he fulfilled his days tilling and planting crops in the beautiful land of Bakerville and Buffalo, TN. He attended Bakerville Church of Christ, where he was
baptized. During his years of farming, he served 20 plus years on the Humphreys County Co-Op Board of Directors, Humphreys County Fair Board, and Soil Conservation “Farmer of the Year” in 1981. Classical cars, buying and selling, became his interest. At his passing, he was a member of Legends Car Club in Camden, TN. Football season would find him watching Titans every Sunday. After moving to Camden, he and his wife, Jackie attended Shiloh United Methodist Church. Bro. Kenn Beal from Shiloh Methodist Church will be officating the service.  Interment will be at Jones Mayberry Owens Cemetery.

Visitation for Larry will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 4 PM - 8 PM, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, and on Thursday, May 4, 2023, beginning at 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM.

In Leiu of flowers the family requested that charitable donations be made to AG in the classroom, https://tnfarmbureau.org/altcdonation, or donate to a church or charity of your choice in memory of Larry.
