John Morgan "J.M." Rye

Mr. John "J.M." Rye, age 79 of Waverly, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Horizion Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee. He was born February 12, 1941 in Erin, Tennessee to the late Johnnie Rye and Louise McClain Rye. He worked for Consolidated Aluminum as a Welder until they closed. After they closed, he continued to own and operate J's Wholesale in Waverly. His lifelong hobby was being a farmer.  J.M. was a member of the Mariah Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Claxton Rye.

One daughter, Kim Lewis (Brian) of Waverly and one son, Kevin Rye also of Waverly.

One sister, Mary Lou Dobbins of Erin, Tennessee

Sister-in-law: Josephine Brown Rye

He also leaves one granddaughter, the love of his life, Jenny Lynn Hickman, also of Waverly.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, from 10:00am until time of Graveside service beginning at 2:00pm, at Richlawn Cemetery. Bro. Terry Mathis and Bro. Dyllan Simmons will officiate the service.
