Jimmie Lee Best, Sr.

Jimmie Lee Best, Sr., age 75, of Erin, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 16, 2023.  Jimmie was born on October 2, 1947, in Kearney, NE, to Henry John Best and Ina Mae Smith Best.  Jimmie served 4 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.   He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion.  He was a retired Heating and Cooling serviceman.  He was married to his wife of 55 years Ruth Best.  He loved to fish, bowl, & play golf.  When he was younger he enjoyed running sports cars on dirt tracks.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Ruth Johnson Best, Erin, TN; 3 Children; Laura Lee Richardson (T), Thompson Station, TN, Marie A. Shafer (James), Lincoln, NE, and Jimmie Lee Best, Jr., Erin, TN; 5 sisters; Patricia Bergen (Carroll), Sutton, NE, Kathryn Gans, Lincoln, NE, Debra Jean Crappell, Grand Island, AR, Gladys Lucas, Litchfield, NE, and Carol Jean Chamberlin (Rus), Omaha, NE; Sister in law, Retha Johnson, McEwen, TN; Brother in law, Jerry D Johsnon (Glenda), Dickson, TN; Brother in law, Martin "D" Johnson (Patty Jo); 5 Grandchildren;  Sarah, Richard, Jacob, Brenna, & Elizabeth.

He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ida Best.

There will be a graveside service and interment at Curtis Chapel Cemetery in McEwen, TN, on Monday, February 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
