Jennifer Kay McCoy Story, affectionately known as Kay, age 72, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 27, 1951 in Manila, AR to the late Mary Baughman McCoy and Monroe McCoy. Kay was known for her warm spirit and her deep love for people. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often enjoying yard sales and relishing in the art of cooking and trying new recipes. Family gatherings were a highlight for her, always taking the opportunity to create lasting memories with those she loved.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 15 years, Grobert Story of Waverly, TN; step son, Joshua Story of McEwen, TN; brother, Harold McCoy (Sandy) of Jackson, MO; her great nephew that she helped raise, Richard Wofford (Paige); great-great niece, Kimmie Wofford; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Bonita McCoy.
Along with her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her siblings, Randall McCoy, Faye Wofford and Bill McCoy.
A visitation for Kay will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly with Bro. Jeremy McFarlin officiating. Interment to follow at J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN.
