Mr. James Michael Betty, age 67, of Waverly, TN, passed away August 22, 2021. Michael lost his life trying to help his neighbor in the great flood in Waverly. He was born October 24, 1953, in Dickson, TN, to James Edward and Jessie Mae Crow Betty. He was married to Peggy Odell Hedge Betty. Michael was a Retired Tow Motor Operator for DSV in Waverly. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Waverly. He enjoyed working and was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Michael Betty has been cremated at Richlawn Crematory, our on-site crematory at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by the family to assist other flood victims. A Visitation & Memorial Service will be held on Michael's birthday, Sunday, October 24, 2021. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM with Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Rev. Rick Kennedy will be officiating the service. Interment of cremains will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
