James William "Jim" Franklin, Sr.

Mr. James William "Jim" Franklin, Sr. age 87, of Waverly, TN, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at his home. He was born December 11, 1932 in Callicoon, New York to the late Frederick Arthur Franklin and Esther Treyz Franklin. He married his wife, Margaret Brown Franklin and they had four children. Jim graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University in New York. He was a Mechanical Engineer for E.I. DuPont until he retired. Jim was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church and served in the Tennessee National Guard.

Mr. Jim Franklin, Sr. was cremated at Richlawn Crematory, our on-site crematory, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly.

A double Graveside Service and Interment of cremains for Jim Franklin, Sr. and his son, James "Jimmy" William Franklin, Jr., will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Waverly Animal Shelter in Memory of Jim.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Brown Franklin
Two daughters: Ginny Horn of Lexington, KY and Lee Ann Brewer (Mark) of Oxford, MS
One son: Jim Franklin, Jr. of Cookeville, TN

Six grandchildren: Rob Lawrence, David Horn, Rachel Horn, Natalie Horn, Kirsten Brewer, and Cade Brewer

One great grandchild: Billie Lawrence-Davies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Esther Franklin, and a daughter, Linda Franklin.
