Dorothy "Dot" Baker Mathes

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Baker Mathes, age 95, of Waverly, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, in the Waverly Health Care in Waverly, TN. Mrs. Mathes was born November 18, 1925, in Humphreys County, TN, to Dixie and Myrtle Luten Baker. She was a member of Waverly Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired Machine Operator for Red Kap Industries in Dickson, TN. After retirement, Mrs. Dot could be seen most days walking in downtown Waverly for her exercise, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was always a delight and had a kind word for everyone she would meet. A public Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Taylor Cemetery in Hurricane Mills, TN. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing at the cemetery. Survivors include: Nephews and Nieces: Oliver Lee, Jr. (Kathleen), James “Snooks” Lee (Sue), Geraldine Henderson (Arley), Douglas Lee (Kay), Great Nieces and Nephews: Victor Henderson (Diane), Sandra Lee Quinones (Miguel), Karen McGuire (Damon), Teresa Ammons (Kenneth), Susie Hewitt (Mike), Tony Lee (Carol), Tim Lee, Mechelle Lee, David Lee (Jana), and Benjie Lee. Dot was blessed with great friends like her dear and lifelong friends, Buddy and Donna Frazier and Greg McMillan. The family would like to thank the staff at Waverly Health Care for taking excellent care of Dorothy and to Tennessee Quality Hospice for assisting her on her final journey home.
