Billie Springer, 88, husband of Barbara Ann French Springer, of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, Tennessee. Mr. Springer was born in Only, Tennessee on October 6, 1932. He was the son of the late Tom and Mary Wiles Springer.

After attending high school in Wyandotte, Michigan he served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He survived the assault on Pork Chop Hill. After his discharge from the service he returned to Tennessee and married his sweetheart, Barbara, to whom he was married for sixty-five years. They moved to Michigan where Mr. Springer worked for many years in the auto industry. In 1974 they returned home to Tennessee where he worked and retired from E. I. DuPont. Following retirement he enjoyed gardening and watching sports. He was known for his extensive knowledge of baseball statistics.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Debbie Stevenson (George), granddaughters Jessica Stevenson (fiance Brent Amos), and Casey Klockner (Nick).

He is predeceased by his son, Christopher Springer.

Because of the current health crisis there will be no visitation. A public graveside service and interment will be held in Bon Aqua, Tennessee at Memory Gardens on February 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Joe Rhodes will be officiating the service.
