Calvin Sanders James

Mr. Calvin Sanders James, age 89, of McEwen, TN, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017. Mr. James was born April 30, 1928, in the Poplar Grove community in Humphreys County, to John Herbert and Rosa Belle Sanders James. He was the youngest of twelve surviving children. He was married to Dorothy Alice McCord James. At the time of her death, they had been married 65 years. He was a member of the Poplar Grove Church of Christ in McEwen, TN. He began working for General Shoe Company in Centerville, TN. In the 40-year career with the same company (which eventually became Genesco) he retired as Divisional Manager. He was a member of Lions Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce,  and the Rotary Club. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 4-7 p.m., and Friday, December 29, 2017 from 8 a.m., until funeral service time at 10 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN, with Bro. Jim Suddeath officiating the service.
