Billy Hugh Link

Surrounded by his family and friends Mr. William Hugh Link (Billy Hugh), 71 of New Johnsonville, TN passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at his home in New Johnsonville, TN. Billy Hugh was born on February 13, 1946 to Hugh and Rebecca Shofner Link in Nashville, TN. He attended Fairview and Lakeview Elementary in New Johnsonville and graduated with Class of ’64 as “Most Athletic” at Waverly Central High in Waverly, TN. Employed with E.I. DuPont de Nemours, New Johnsonville, TN, retiring as operator-mechanic after 47 years of dedicated service (1965-2012). Billy Hugh served six years in the Tennessee National Guard.On June 6, 1976 Billy Hugh and Shirley Bass were united in marriage, being blessed to 41 years of loving marriage. From the marriage, they were more blessed to have their beautiful daughter, Becca Marie Link Little. Upon meeting Billy Hugh you would know that he was a “TRUE DEMOCRAT”.Billy Hugh was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waverly, TN. He served 20 years as Humphreys County Commissioner representing the 4th district. At the time of his death, he was serving on the Humphreys County Election Commission.Funeral Services for Billy Hugh will be conducted on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Luff-Bowen-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN with Pastor Thad Collier officiating. Interment will follow J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN.
