John T. Tate

Mr. John T. Tate, age 89, of Hurricane Mills, TN, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, TN. Mr. Tate was born April 19, 1928, in Waverly, TN, to Roy Lester and Ella Mae Schrock Tate. He was a member of Compassion Church in Waverly. He was a Retired Electrician for  E.I. DuPont and a Farmer. He was a member of The Gideons International. Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 9, 2017, from 4-8 p.m., at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Visitation on Saturday, June 10, 2017, will be from 11 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Compassion Church in Waverly. Pastor Matt Wade, Chaplain Roger Heath, and Pastor Dennis Bailey will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery in McEwen, TN. Active pallbearers will be Harold Patrick, Warren Patrick, David Burns, Glynn Tate, Scott Cross, and Sandy Cross.
