James "Beefy" Ernest Ethridge

Mr. James "Beefy" Ernest Ethridge, age 81, of McEwen, TN, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, in Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Ethridge was born August 14, 1935, in McEwen, TN, to Ernest Calvin and Virgie Lorene Castleman Ethridge. He was married to Laura Anne Buck Ethridge. He was a graduate of McEwen High School and a retired Shipping Clerk for Wynn & Graff in Nashville, TN. Mr. Ethridge was a member of First Baptist Church of McEwen. He was also retired from the Tennessee National Guard Military Police after serving our country for 21 years. He was a Master Mason and member of the McEwen Masonic Lodge #525 F&AM, member of the McEwen Rod & Gun Club for 57 years, City of McEwen Alderman for 21 years, Vice Mayor for the City of McEwen for 8 years, an avid deer hunter, and he loved working on old cars. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 4-8 p.m., with Masonic Service to be held at 7 p.m.  Visitation on Thursday, May 11, 2017, will be from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen. Bro. Joe James will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
