Larry Ardell Curtis (Poppy), age 69, of White Bluff, TN went to his heavenly home Saturday, January 28, 2017. After a valiant fight with the aggressive foe of cancer, God mercifully released him from the suffering. Born April 6, 1947, to Rose (Miller) and Ardell Curtis. Larry and his wife, Donna (Bryan) Curtis, formerly of Hueytown, AL, shared an amazing love story for over 37 years. Larry is survived by one son, Jason L. Curtis, of New Mexico, two daughters, Jennifer Hooban of Nashville and Sarah Reeves of White Bluff, TN, and two precious grandgirls, Emma and Chloe Tarwater of Nashville, sister Vicky Lynn (Larry) Wyese, of Hillsdale, MI, brother Donald Mitchell, Ypsilanti, MI, beloved nephews Beau, Chris, and Jay Bryan, nieces Stephanie (Wyese) Myers of Michigan, Crystal Fowler (Greg) of North Carolina, and many cousins with whom he stayed close throughout his life. Larry had a special love for children, always opening his heart to those needing a warm hug, unconditional love, and gentle (sometimes pointed!) advice. He was a strong and loving husband, loyal friend, and precious "Poppy" to so many. Larry was a genuine smile, hug, and handshake to those who entered the doors of Calvary Chapel Dickson. He will be missed by so many, but the love he gave will remain in our hearts. He has now seen the face of God and lives in joy, health, and peace. We will be with him again. Visitation with the family will be Friday, February 3, 2017, from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Pastor Eric Irwin of Calvary Chapel Dickson and Bro. John "Ox" Rasmasson of Mercy Hands Ministries will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, TN.LUFF-BOWEN FUNERAL HOMERita G. Oliphant, Funeral Director9729 Hwy. 70 EastMcEwen, TN 37101Telephone 931-582-6271Obituary Line 931-296-3500
