Hugh Garland Baker

      Mr. Hugh Garland Baker passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, in Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. Mr. Baker was born on September 19, 1922, in Erin, TN to John Henry and Lucy Bell Brooks Baker. He was married to Margaret Irene Patterson on May 15, 1947 for 65 years. He was the loving father of Barbara (Marko) and the proud grandfather of Adam and Mindy Winters.      He was a World War II Army Veteran and retired from General Motors Fleetwood Cadillac Plant in Detroit, Michigan, where he worked for 30 years.     He was a member of the First Baptist Church in McEwen, TN and a former member and deacon of Ambassador Baptist Church in Allen Park, Michigan. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union.     Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017, from 3-9 p.m., and Thursday, January 26, 2017, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Dr. Adam G. Winters and Dr. Mike Blankeship will be officiating the service.
