On Friday evening, January 20, 2017, Marion Walter Lane left this world in a tragic accident. Mr. Lane was born March 5, 1931, in Andersonville, TN, to Everett Dallas and Eva Brunner Lane. He was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church in New Johnsonville, TN for 48 years. He was a retired Supervisor from Chemetal in New Johnsonville, TN, after 42 years of service. Mr. Lane was a retired United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War. His grieving family includes Ruth, his wife for 63 years, one son, Terry Lane (Anna), Waverly, TN, one daughter, Lisa Allen (Tim), Knoxville, TN, six grandchildren, Dillon Lane, Casey Lane, Hannah Allen, Brooke Allen, Riley Allen, and Hailey Reicher Allen, five great grandchildren, Trystan Hackney Lane, Sydney Lane-Goode, Cammie Lane, Ethyan Lane, and Cali Lane, five brothers, Ray, Virgil, Ronald, Kyle, and Lanny Lane, four sisters, Hazel Balew, Reva Mullins, Janice Haws, and Murielyn Lawson. Preceded in death by father, Everett Lane, mother, Eva Brunner Lane, brother, Melvin Lane, and grandson, Danny Lane. Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 23, 2017, from 12 noon until funeral service time at 2 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Rev. Mark Warren and Rev. Tom Jensen will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Methodist Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN. Active pallbearers will be Dillon Lane, Casey Lane, Trystan Hackney Lane, Tim Allen, Derick Russell, Lanny Lane, and Mark Webb.
