John Monroe Rodgers

John Monroe Rodgers, age 72, of New Johnsonville, TN passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in a Nashville hospital.  John was born August 16, 1944 in Lawton, OK and was a retired Foreman with Inland Container.     John is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Mae Pittman and father, John Allen Pittman of Florida and birth father John Henry Rodgers of Alabama. John is survived by his wife, Cathy Thompson Rodgers of New Johnsonville, faithful travel companion Bear, daughters Beverly (Mike) Quickel of Waverly,  Teresa Cone of Ohio,  Alinda (Roger(Mark)) Bohanon of Waverly,  sons David (Angie) Reeves and Christopher Reeves (Brandy Baker) of New Johnsonville, brother James (Lisa) Rodgers of Florida,  10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation with the family will be 12:00 PM, Sunday January 15, 2017 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. A celebration of life will be held at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM.   In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Humphreys County Humane Society in John’s memory.
