Joe Ann Lampley Hewitt

Mrs. Joe Ann Lampley Hewitt, age 84, of Waverly, TN, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, in the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly. Mrs. Hewitt was born April 19, 1932, in Nashville, TN, to Boyd and Molly Irene Yaggi Mitchell. She was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, the Hart Sunday School Class, Humphreys County Retired Teachers Association, Bridge Club, and the Domino Group. She loved spending time with people, family, friends, and church members. She was an avid traveler, having traveled all over the world. Mrs. Hewitt was a retired Guidance Counselor and School Teacher for the Humphreys County Board of Education. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 4-7 p.m., and Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Pastor Thad Collier will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Waverly United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 247, Waverly, TN 37185, or to the charity of your choice in Joe Ann's memory.
