Mrs. Nelda Parker Johnson Carter, age 85, of Waverly, TN, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly, TN. Mrs. Carter was born June 12, 1931, in Stewart, TN, to Daniel Thomas and Mabel Pauline Parker Johnson. She was married to Charles Melvin Carter. She was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church in Waverly. Mrs. Carter was a retired Boot Maker from Acme Boot Company in Waverly. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 12-7 p.m., and Sunday, November 20, 2016, from 11 a.m. until funeral service time at 2 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Rev. Charles Martin will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the H. B.
