Joe Edward Napier

Mr. Joe Edward Napier, age 91, of Waverly, TN, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly. Mr. Napier was born May 7, 1925, in Waverly, TN, to William Wills and Anne Catherine Hooper Napier. He was the retired owner of Joe E. Napier Insurance for 27 years in Waverly. He was a member of Waverly United Methodist Church. Mr. Napier attended Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN. He was a Class of 1943 Waverly Central High School graduate. Joe served in the United States Army, 87th Division, during World War II, under General George S. Patton. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, member of Waverly Lodge # 304, F & AM, 65 year member of  American Legion Hickman-Patterson Post # 34, organized the Waverly Lions Club in the 1950's, Board Member of Independent Insurance Agents of America, and member of Insurors of Tennessee. At his request, a private graveside service and interment of cremains, will be held at Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly. He was preceded in death by his son; James Edward "Jimmy" Napier, granddaughter; Carly Renè Napier, and parents; Will and Anne Napier. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years; Virginia Channell Napier, Waverly, TN, son; William David "Billy" Napier, Austin, TX, 1 granddaughter; Lori Anne Napier, Waverly, TN, and 1 great granddaughter; Kamryn Renè Schaaf, Murfreesboro, TN.
