Nathan Stephen Stuart, age 35, of McEwen, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, TN. Nathan was the beloved husband of Kelly Rougemont Stuart and devoted father to Travis, Matthew, and Noah.He was born July 2, 1980, in Nashville, TN, the son of Dwight and LeAnne Forster Stuart. He was a member of McEwen Church of Christ. Nathan was an assistant unit operator for Tennessee Valley Authority until a diagnois of ALS forced him to retire. He was a member of IBEW Local #1749.Nathan loved his family and enjoyed baseball and hunting in his spare time. He delighted in watching his sons play sports and hunting with them. His special passions were duck hunting and the Yankees baseball team. His favorite apparel changed with the seasons from anything camouflage to the distinctive blue and white of the Yankees. He helped coach several Dixie League baseball teams that his sons played on and was a familiar sight at the McEwen Dixie League Ballpark. Some of his favorite trips included visits to Yankiee Stadium in New York and Disneyworld.Nathan played baseball for the McEwen Warriors High School team and was a member of the McEwen High School Band. He was an avid lover of music playing both the saxophone and guitar.Nathan was a quiet man who had the gift of listening and sharing his attention with others. He was slow to speak, quick to laugh, and a friend to all he met. He adored children and children loved him back due to his gentleness and loving manner.Nathan was a proud organ donor and strongly supported organ donation. Nathan's son stated, "Those people just became better people because they have a part of my Dad." All services for Nathan will be at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 12-8 p.m., and Friday, May 27, 2016, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 2 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Chapel in Waverly. Bro. James Wall and Bro. Jim Suddeath will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
