Floyd E. "Bill" Williams

Floyd E. "Bill" Williams, 88, of Hurricane Mills, TN, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. A family service will be held at a later date. He was a Maury County native; son of the late Floyd A. and Mamie Whitley Williams. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp and the U. S. Air Force from 1947 to 1951. He was married to the late Joyce Brady Williams of Dunkirk, MD for 60 years. They lived in Mechanicsville, MD until he retired from the Naval Air Facility at Andrews Air Force Base. After retirement he moved to Hurricane Mills, planted trees and raised a huge garden that he loved to share. He loved working with his hands and in later years built bird houses that he donated for fundraisers.Survivors include his sons; Craig (Lynn) Williams of Hampstead, MD and Steve Williams of Hurricane Mills, TN, three grandchildren; Christopher, Garrett, and Michael of Hampstead, MD, his siblings; Ollie Montgomery, James "Jimmy" (Nancy) Williams, Douglas (Roseann) Williams, all of Columbia, TN, Donna (Robert) Brooks of Fairview, TN, Larry Dean (Deborah) Williams of Readyville, sisters-in-law; Betty Williams of Navarre, FL and Barbara Jean Brady of Dunkirk, MD, and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by sisters Pearl Goodloe, Joan Williams, and Lois Williams, brother, Bobby Williams, brothers-in-law, Vance Montgomery, Tommy Goodloe, Douglas Brady and Hillary Brady, sisters-in-law; Virginia Whittington and Mildred Gibson.Memorials may be made to the Humphreys County Humane Society, 108 Young Road, Waverly, TN 37185 LUFF-BOWEN FUNERAL HOMERICHLAWN CREMATORY2400 Hwy. 13 NorthWaverly, TN 37185Telephone 931-296-2437
