Chris Evans Lumley

October 2, 1935 — April 18, 2015

Chris Evans Lumley of Burns, Tennessee stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 18, 2015. As a donor, after harvest of organs and tissue, at his request, his remains were cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Dickson First Baptist Church, Dickson, Tennessee. The service will be officiated by Lewis E. Bratton, Jr. and Honorable Robert E. Burch. Arrangements under the direction of Luff Bowen Funeral Home. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Chris was born in Cleveland, Ohio and resided in Ohio until his job related move to Tennessee in 1991. He was employed with Firestone/Bridgestone as an Inventory Manager of Consumer and Customer Sales and Service, and retired after 34 years of service. Chris was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and recipient of metals for highest scores in marksmanship. He served during the Korean War. He was an avid reader, studied history and loved fishing. He had a kind and loving heart for all animals, particularly dogs, horses, deer and turkey. He assisted his father-in-law with a jail ministry for many years. Predeceasing him in death were his parents, Minnie V. and Howard A. Lumley, and brother, Larry Lumley. He was also predeceased by his wife of 46 years and mother of their children, Ruby M. Lumley. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Reka Drake-Lumley of Burns; daughters, Elaine (Bill) Ratzer of Akron, OH, Debi (Jeff) Noice of Ducula, GA, and Nancy (Keith) Foxx of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Shannon, Tony, Jessica, Jennifer, Danny, and Ashley; Godchildren, Tristan and Savannah. He is also survived by his cherished pets, Angel and Rascal. Also surviving Chris is a host of friends. Acknowledging the faithfulness of God, the family gives all glory, honor and praise to God for His unending love for His children.
