Robert Eugene "Bobby" Fortner

Mr. Robert Eugene "Bobby" Fortner, age 81, of Waverly, TN, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, in Waverly Health Care Center. Mr. Fortner was born July 10, 1933, in Waverly, TN, to William Vester, Sr. and Nola Elizabeth Williams Fortner. He was married to Carol Huff Fortner of Waverly. Mr. Fortner was a member of Mariah Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Waverly. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War, and was a member of Hickman-Patterson Post 34 American Legion. He was a retired Officer for Waverly Department of Public Safety and Owned and Operated Fortner Construction Co. in Waverly. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 4-8 p.m., and Friday, March 6, 2015, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Dr. Richard Bray will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly with Military Honors by the United States Navy.
