Allie Elise Townsend Warren

Mrs. Allie Elise Townsend Warren, age 105, of Waverly, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 16, 2015. Ms. Allie was born March 22, 1909, the oldest of 8 children to Charlie and Cora Buchanan Townsend. She grew up in the Sycamore Landing area of Humphreys County, TN. She married Leonard Francis "Joe" Warren, and they moved "to the city", settling in Waverly. They were parents to 2 sons, Leonard Frances "Jack" and Robert Ray. She worked at the Waverly Elementary School helping to prepare meals for the students until she retired in the 1970's. She and Joe were long-time members of the Waverly Church of Christ, and at her death, Ms. Allie was the oldest member. She is survived by sister, Jean Gooden; son, Ray Warren, his wife Sheila; daughter-in-law, Brenda Warren, 4 grandchildren, Laura Grimes, Stacey Smith, Jeremy Warren, and Amanda Nelms, 6 great grandchildren, Kayrin Duke, Makensie Smith, Riley Nelms, Peyton Nelms, Kennedy Smith, and Tucker Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, January 18, 2015, from 4-8 p.m., and Monday, January 19, 2015, from 12 Noon until funeral service time at 2 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Bro. Paul Darety and Bro. Jeff Keele will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Wyly Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
