Gary Michael Mealer

Mr. Gary Michael Mealer, age 61, of Waverly, TN, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly. Mr. Mealer was born March 31, 1952, in Union City, TN, to Finis Ray and Martha Moore Mealer. He was married to Lynn Elvington Mealer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waverly and an United States Army Vietnam War veteran. Gary was an avid Harley Davidson owner and rider, and loved his cattle farming. He was the retired President/CEO of ASI Ambulance Services, Inc. in Humphreys, Perry, Lewis, Davidson, and Shelby Counties in Tennessee. He was also the Co-Owner of Health and Home in Natchez, Mississippi. Gary was an EMT, a Waverly Masonic Lodge #304 Mason, Scottish Rite, Shriner, member of the NRA, AARP, Toys for Tots volunteer, volunteer fireman for the City of Waverly for over 20 years, former member of the Humphreys County Econonmic Development Council, Waverly Elks Lodge member for over 30 years, and the Tennessee Cattlemen's Assoc. He was a kind, loving, and giving husband, father, brother, uncle, employer and friend, who will be greatly missed. Visitation with the family will be Monday, March 31, 2014, from 4-9 p.m., with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. Monday, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Visitation on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, will be from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Bro. Keith Poglitsch will be officiating the service. Interment with military honors will follow in the Wyly Cemetery in Waverly, TN. Active pallbearers will be Chris Nichols, Justin Ward, Bruce Smith, Jeff Staggs, Darren McConnell, and Matt Dill.
