Caroline "Carol" Margaret Boone

Mrs. Caroline "Carol" Margaret Worth Boone, age 96, of McEwen, TN, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, in the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, TN. Mrs. Boone was born September 11, 1917, in Wayland, New York, to Emery Jay and Angeline Smalt Worth. Carol was the widow of Leon Boone and had lived in McEwen, TN since 1952. She graduated from Olean High School and was a member of the Alumni Assoc., member of the McEwen United Methodist Church, a Charter member of the United Methodist Women, having served as President for 14 years and Secretary for several years. Carol retired from Olean Tile Company and worked at the Dairy Queen in McEwen for 5 years. She was an excellent cook, her speciality was "cookies" and plum jelly. Her cookies have gone to MANY people!! Surviving are 1 brother; James Worth (Helen), of Portville, NY, 2 sisters; Evelyn Tilly of Olean, NY and Gloria Rice of McEwen, TN, 2 sisters-in-law; Eileen Worth of Olean, NY, and Margaret Shanks of Dickson, TN (formerly of McEwen), a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation with the family will be Monday, February 10, 2014, from 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday, February 11, 2014, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Rev. Jim Fields and Rev. Joan Hubbard will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
