Lawrence Alton "Al" Hethcoat

Mr. Lawrence Alton "Al" Hethcoat, age 79, of New Johnsonville, TN, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly, TN. Mr. Al Hethcoat was born April 7, 1934, in Riviera, TX, to Orval and Veronica May Hethcoat. He was married to Wanda Hooper Hethcoat. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden, TN, since 1960, where he served in various positions. He was a retired Supply Relations Manager after 30 years for E. I. DuPont in New Johnsonville, TN. Mr. Hethcoat was a member of the New Johnsonville Lions Club, New Johnsonville Regional Planning Commission, New Johnsonville City Council, New Johnsonville Mayor for 12 years, Humphreys County Economic Development Council, Humphreys County Chamber of Commerce for many years, Three Rivers Hospital Board for 26 years, and a member of Friends of Johnsonville State Historic Park. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 9, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, January 10, 2014, from 9-11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 10, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden, TN. Father Joey Kaump will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN. Active pallbearers will be Ted Moore, Dr. George Mathai, Jerry Wooten, Don Ellis, Wayne McMeans, and Chris Dellinger.
