Mrs. Eunice McCaline Baker Banes, age 87, of North Port, FL, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, in Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte, FL. She was born in McEwen, TN, on April 15, 1926, to George and Alice Reynolds Baker. She was married to James Wilson Banes, Sr. She was a retired sewing machine operator for General Motors in Livonia, Mi, where she worked for almost 25 years. Eunice was a wonderful, loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by many. In Florida, she was very active with The Garden Club, The Red Hats, and the Widow's Club. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, line dancing, playing pinochle, and she loved traveling. She was a member of South Biscayne Church, where she enjoyed Bible Study and helping with the completion of the Christmas banners. Visitation with the family will be Friday, November 22, 2013, from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Rev. Tony Curtis will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Taylortown Cemetery in Hurricane Mills, TN.
