Millard Edward Woods

Mr. Millard Edward Woods, age 87, of Waverly, TN, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, at the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly. Mr. Woods was born February 13, 1926, in the Bakerville Community, to Willie Dee Woods and Daisy Townsend Woods Baker. He was married to Clady "Ruth" Baker Woods. He was a lifelong resident of Humphreys County. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving his country during World War II on board the USS Leopard, also serving in the Naval Reserve and the local unit of the TN National Guard. Mr. Woods worked for several years at Dodson's Amoco and Phillips 66 service stations and was retired from Consolidated Aluminum Corporation. The family wishes to thank the employees of Magnolia Place Assisted Living facility, the extraordinary staff of the Humphreys County Nursing Home and Dr. Dickie Jackson. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Mr. Wayne Woods will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Hurricane Mills, TN. Active pallbearers will be Jake Stribling, Scott Atkinson, Heath Hatcher, J. V.
