Maxie Kyle Lucas

Mr. Maxie Kyle Lucas, age 61, of McEwen, TN, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013, at his home. Maxie was born November 16, 1951, in Dickson, TN, to Caldwell "Corky" and Lucille Stewart Lucas. He was a graduate of McEwen High School Class of 1971. During his senior year of football, the McEwen Warriors defeated the Waverly Tigers 26-22. This was the first time McEwen had defeated Waverly in football since 1962. Maxie scored a 60 yard touchdown run during this game to help his team and give Coach Bill Hendrix, his lifelong friend, a big win. He was an avid sportsman and hunter. He was employed with the Humphreys Farmers Coop in Waverly, TN, as a Spreader Driver for many years. Maxie was a member of Hurricane Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in McEwen, TN. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 16, 2013, from 1-9 p.m. and Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 10 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Rev. Tim Farris will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Hurricane Chapel Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
