John Neumeyer Birckhead, Jr.

Mr. John Neumeyer Birckhead, Jr., age 85, of New Johnsonville, TN, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly, TN. Mr. Birckhead was born December 13, 1927, in Washington, D.C., to John Neumeyer, Sr. and Mary Estelle May Birckhead. He was married to Frances Ferris Birckhead. He had an engineering degree and was the retired Project Manager of Construction at E. I. DuPont in New Johnsonville, TN. He was an Episcopalian. He was a member of the National Society of Civil Engineers, National Rifle Association, United States Power Squadron, former Chairman of Boy Scouts of America, and an avid sportsman. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, August 9, 2013 from 2-5 p.m., with Prayer Service at 4 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund, 220 West Main St., Camden, TN 38320.
