Thelma "Louise" Curtis

Ms. Thelma "Louise" Curtis, age 74, of McEwen, TN, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, in Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. Ms. Curtis was born October 3, 1938, in Waverly, TN, to Ernest Cornelius and Vera Ollice Bell Curtis. She earned her Masters Degree in Education and taught Home Economics and English for Metro Nashville Schools before her retirement. She was a member of Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church in Hurricane Mills, TN. Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 29, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 30, 2013, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Rev. John Curtis and Elder Kevin Lofton will be officiating. Interment will follow in the McKeel Cemetery in Waverly, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
